broken home

this comic by dina kelberman basically sums it up for me:

i love this artist. she makes these tiny comic books...tiny as in the size of a quarter...and they are so great!! most of her characters are stick-figures or simple shapes that convey more emotion and less pretention than most other webcomix i know. check out that little yellow dude...he is just hangin out with his mom, totally casual. i like that she used colored pencil and i like how she overlays lines on top of one another, and also i like her speech bubbles because the words don't always fit. a lot of times the dialogue is discontinuous but that is okay!! in fact, it is wonderful! she has this one comic about a bear that learns how to feel good about herself. she tries superficial beauty, fulfillment in a relationship, the internet... nothing helps! then she decides to just go with her flow. i can dig that.
